In our upcoming event on December 2nd, Self Service BI: Take Time to Make Time, Dan Jones, Director of Business Intelligence at Quicken Loans, and Nuverre Naami, Team leader for Business Intelligence / Business Analysts also from Quicken Loans, will illustrate how to find success through building a scalable and future-oriented BI platform.
On October 1st, DAMA-Michigan co-sponsored a Neo4j Tutorial – Detroit, a paid training event. Max De Marz, Senior Consultant, of Neo Technology conducted a seminar entitled, A Programmatic Introduction to the Neo4j Graph Database.
In our September 30th meeting, Max De Marz, Senior Consultant, Neo Technology gave an Introduction to Graph Databases. He showed how to query data from the graph and how it compares to the SQL we all know and love. He also covered some great use cases for graph databases and gave the audience an opportunity to add a new tool to their software development toolkit.
In our meeting on July 18, 2013, Russ Lankenau, of MapR Technologies, Inc., provided an introduction to sourcing & maintaining data from Pig and Hive; the Data Extraction framework for Hadoop.This event was hosted by Lawrence Tech University.
In our meeting on June 12, 2013, Kelly Gibson, Director of Sales at Anametrix, Inc., led a discussion on how data-management professionals can best integrate and analyze Big Data and leverage insights to drive successful marketing campaigns. The event hosted by Lawrence Tech University.
